Austin, TX pet boardingWhen traveling for business or taking your family on vacation, there is a lot to do and enough stress without having to worry about who is going to take care of your beloved companion. This is especially true if your pet has a chronic or acute medical condition that requires a caregiver with veterinary knowledge and experience.

Rather than impose on a neighbor or rely on a pet sitter with little animal care training, AM/PM Animal Hospital offers veterinary-supervised boarding for pets with special medical needs. For example, if your dog is epileptic or your cat has diabetes, we are able to offer your pet safe and comfortable boarding as well as administer any necessary medical care.

Your pet's special health needs, such as medicine administration, food preparation, and exercise requirements will all be reviewed with you. We offer each pet Science Diet food but you are welcome to bring your own if your pet is on a special diet.

You will never be left stranded without a caring and trained sitter for your Austin area pet. We exercise your pet outside in a monitored yard. Your pet is never left alone in the yard and not allowed to mingle with other pets that are boarding. This provides a safe exercise environment. We offer comfortable indoor runs that are climate-controlled. Dogs are walked 4 times a day, every 6 hours at a minimum.

Your pet receives a daily physical exam by one of our trained veterinary technician assistants. Any concerns are brought to the attention of the DVM.

Reservations are necessary for all pet boarders. We offer routine boarding as well.

Required Vaccinations for Boarding

We require that all boarding dogs and cats be current on the following vaccinations:

Boarding and GroomingDogs:

  • Rabies
  • DHPP
  • Bordetella
  • Influenza

Cats:

  • Rabies
  • FVRCP

It is best to have vaccinations given prior to the check-in date. If that is not possible, we can certainly provide needed vaccines the day of check-in.

If your pet has been vaccinated at another facility, we must have a copy of the current vaccination record in our file (preferably prior to check-in) or your pet will be required to have those vaccines readministered through our hospital. It is your responsibility to make sure your veterinarian has faxed this record to us and that we have received it.

In order to protect the well-being of the pets in our care, we reserve the right to refuse any pet for boarding that may have a contagious illness or other problems. All dog and cat boarders receive a complimentary CAPSTAR treatment upon discharge to promote a flea-free environment.
